Volvo Radiator Hoses For Better Cooling Action

by Evander Klum

Cooling agents are important to all vehicles, especially those with internal combustion engines, to control the amount of heat the engine produces during its continuous operation. It is for this very reason why the radiator was invented. Thus understanding that the engine's cooling system affects vehicle performance, car companies like Volvo continuously enhance their vehicles' cooling system to complement the engine operation. This ensures that the vehicles will run efficiently.

Volvo radiator hoses are valuable components of the cooling system. They are used to link both the engine and the water pump to the radiator. They are mostly made of flexible rubber, although their sizes may differ depending on the type of the vehicle engine. Smaller Volvo radiator hoses run to the heater core, thus they are termed as heater hoses.

There are three types of Volvo radiator hoses. One is the common hose, next is the molded or shaped hose, and the last is the accordion type hose. All three types of hoses are built with spiral wire, which are either molded or inserted into the hoses according to the required shape. Constructed of rubber with fabric reinforcement, the common Volvo radiator hoses are straight and mostly inflexible before breaking down. They are made of rubber with fabric reinforcement. Molded or shaped hoses share the same traits with common hoses, except that they break down when bent. The reason for this is that all their required bends are already molded into them. On the other hand, accordion type hoses are easily bent. They also pick up some of the vibration that occurs between the engine and the radiator.

Without efficient Volvo radiator hoses, the entire cooling system cannot function effectively. However, any defects that may threaten this component just cannot be avoided. So it is important that it is properly maintained to ensure a long-lasting Volvo radiator hose. In case there is a leak, securing immediate replacements is highly recommended.
